How it works
The Colmédica member calls or writes to your organization.
The assistant tells them their Colmédica plan's coverage and copay using what your clinic has loaded.
It checks availability in Google Calendar and creates the appointment as an event on the clinician's calendar.
If the patient reschedules, it moves it in Google Calendar and lets your team know.

Colmédica
Colmédica Medicina Prepagada S.A. is a Colombian prepaid medicine company (prepaid medicine is a voluntary private health plan on top of the mandatory system). Its plans offer direct access to more than 100 specialties, telemedicine and home care, backed by its own medical, dental and diagnostic centers. It belongs to a business group that in Colombia includes Banmédica Colombia and the health insurer Aliansalud EPS, among other companies.
An in-network IPS (healthcare provider institution) or affiliated physician sees Colmédica members, confirms the service is authorized and bills the company for the care.

Google Calendar is Google's calendar, used with a personal Google Account or within Google Workspace. It lets you create events, share calendars and publish appointment schedules with a booking page where others pick a time. Some appointment schedule features require a Google Workspace or Google One subscription.

The Google Calendar API is a REST API with OAuth 2.0 to read and create events and calendars, manage access permissions and receive push notifications of changes at an HTTPS webhook.

What happens to patient data?
They are health data, sensitive under Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012: processed for a stated purpose, with the patient's authorization and with encryption and isolation per organization. Every conversation is recorded and exportable.
