Colmédica members, booked on gMedic. With Arbol, on your line and WhatsApp.

How it works

  1. The Colmédica member calls or writes to your organization.

  2. The assistant tells them their Colmédica plan's coverage and copay using what your clinic has loaded and prepares the case for your team if something is missing.

  3. It books on the gMedic calendar, with the real availability of each clinician and site.

  4. The appointment shows up in gMedic like any other, and the conversation stays on record.

What each one is

  • Prepaid medicine company

    Colmédica

Colmédica Medicina Prepagada S.A. is a Colombian prepaid medicine company (prepaid medicine is a voluntary private health plan on top of the mandatory system). Its plans offer direct access to more than 100 specialties, telemedicine and home care, backed by its own medical, dental and diagnostic centers. It belongs to a business group that in Colombia includes Banmédica Colombia and the health insurer Aliansalud EPS, among other companies.

An in-network IPS (healthcare provider institution) or affiliated physician sees Colmédica members, confirms the service is authorized and bills the company for the care.

Its login portal has separate entries for individual medical providers and provider institutions (IPS), plus members, employers and brokers.

  • Electronic health record software

    gMedic

gMedic is a cloud-based electronic health record platform for independent practitioners and IPS (healthcare provider institutions), made by Kloud Solutions SAS in Bogotá. It includes scheduling with reminders, clinical records with ICD-10 and ICD-11 diagnoses, informed consent forms, RIPS files in JSON (Colombia's standardized service records), electronic invoicing, teleconsultation and inventory. It supports specialties such as pediatrics, gynecology, psychology, physical therapy and occupational health.

A private practice or IPS records clinical notes in gMedic, books appointments and generates the electronic invoice and RIPS files for each visit.

It reports more than 6,000 users, 160,000 patients and 2,000,000 cumulative patient encounters. Source: gmedic.io (opens in a new tab)

Its integration API (patients, appointments, schedule availability and clinical records) is an add-on module for customers and has supported webhooks since its August 27, 2026 update.

Questions

Do I need to change gMedic to serve Colmédica members?

No. gMedic remains your system: Arbol books on it for Colmédica members and all your patients.

Do Colmédica or gMedic endorse Arbol?

No. Colmédica and gMedic are trademarks of their owners and do not sponsor or endorse Arbol. Arbol works on your organization's side, with the accounts and processes you already have with each.

What happens to patient data?

They are health data, sensitive under Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012: processed for a stated purpose, with the patient's authorization and with encryption and isolation per organization. Every conversation is recorded and exportable.
